2023: Lawan applauds Buhari over APC presidential primary

Nigeria’s Senate President, Dr Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan has commended President Muhammadu Buhari over the peaceful conduct of presidential primary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a statement on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Media, Mr Ola Awoniyi, Lawan who contested the election and failed said, the peaceful conduct of the exercise made it one of the best in Nigeria’s democratic history, pointing out that Buhari ensured that a level playing was created for every aspirants.

“I thank President Muhammadu Buhari for providing exemplary leadership in the conduct of our presidential primary.

“The President truly demonstrated his leadership role by providing a level playing field for all the contestants.”

The Senate President appreciated his supporters and delegates for standing by him, stressing that he is indebted to all of them.

He pointed out in the statement that the primary exercise should be put behind, while all party faithful should direct their energies towards winning elections at all levels in 2023.

“I am confident that once we forge a common front against our opponents, victory will be ours,” Lawan said.”

The Senate President also commended the National Chairman of the party, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, members of the National Working Committee (NWC) and party members who officiated at the primary for a job well done.
