Owo attack: Tinubu donates N75 million to Church, victims calls for arrest of arsonists
Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu has donated the sum of N75 million to St Francis Catholic Church for repairs of damage done by the gunmen which left scores dead and several others severely injured.
The donation also covers compensation for survivors of the attack currently undergoing treatment at various hospitals.
Tinubu is the National leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and a presidential aspirant on the APC platform for the 2023 general election.
Out of the N75 million donated, N50 million is to go to the injured victims while N25 million is said to be for the repairs of the Catholic Church and other activities surrounding the Church.
The former governor of Lagos State who is already in Abuja preparatory for the presidential primary that will kick off today was said to have left with governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for Ondo to commiserate with the families of the victims.
While addressing journalists in Ondo, the politician urged citizens to cooperate with the State government and security agents to apprehend the perpetrators.
At the palace of the Olowo of Owo Kingdom, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye, Akeredolu revealed the donations made by the former Lagos State during his visit.
Earlier, Akeredolu had announced seven days of mourning and that all flags around public buildings and facilities should fly at half-mast.
