The source said no security agents responded to distress calls throughout the four hour operations by the gunmen.

Another resident who identified himself as Mohammed, disclosed that the gunmen gained access to Genuine Estate after Efab Queens on 6th Avenue, Gwarinpa, but could not give detail account of how many people were abducted.

According to him, the bandits were armed with bows, arrows, and machetes and were in large numbers.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the FCT Police Command, Josephine Adeh, differed, saying that it was a case of armed robbery.

Adeh said the police had already been mobilised to the scene to ascertain how the incident happened.

She promised that the public would be duly notified after details of the incident had been ascertained.
