Kogi APC primaries: Outcome most free, fair as a result of governor Yahaya Bello’s commitment – Hon. Zacharias

Member representing Idah/Ibaji/Igalamela/Ofu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. David Idris Zacharias has reacted to the outcome of primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across Kogi State.

Speaking with journalists in Abuja on Thursday, he described the processes leading to the primaries of various levels across the State as most free and fair as a result of governor Yahaya Bello’s commitment to the APC which he has been providing sterling leadership for the past six years of his administration.

Change of Name

Hon. Zacharias who won his return ticket recalled that governor Yahaya Bello at each meeting with party stakeholders insisted on due process and creation of a level playing field for all aspirants to test their popularity which he ensured, it happened.

The lawmaker also explained that the APC leadership in Kogi State was focused in ensuring that all contestants were carried along at each processes despite, campaign of calumny against some party members because of political interests.

“The outcome of the APC primary election is a testimony of governor Yahaya Bello’s commitment to providing leadership qualities which has made the party stronger and united.

“I recalled that the governor has often told the party leadership and all those who aspire for offices from the State Assembly to the National Assembly that there would be a level playing field for everyone which is exactly what happened.”

Speaking on those who lost a return ticket, the lawmaker in the lower legislative Chamber said, “there is no winner, no vanguished”, while he called on them to join hands to work for the success of the APC, noting that there was always another day.

He said: “In the ruling All Progressives Congress, there’s no winner, no vanguished and I call on all those who lost the primary election to team up with the party to form a formidable force ahead of 2023 to deliver the party at all level in Kogi State.

“To my constituents and delegates, I commend them for their understanding and commitment to the APC at each ward, each polling unit and by the grace of God, more dividends of democracy would be provided for them”, he said.

Hon. Zacharias was a first timer to the Federal House of Representatives in 2019 and has sponsored bills, move motions as well as presented House Resolutions that bothers on national interest.
