Kaduna popular APC Reps aspirant alleges delegates list shortchange, withdraws from race

Hon. Samaila Aliyu Makarfi has announced his withdrawal from the ongoing contest of primaries into the Makarfi/Kudan Federal Constituency on the platform of the All Progressives Congress APC.

In a statement he issued on Saturday, which was obtained by CAPITAL POST, the popular Kaduna based politician thanked all his teeming supporters and expressed his deep sense of duty and high resolve to announce his withdrawal from the race to contest the ongoing primaries based on what he outlined as the ‘surrounding controversies regarding the delegate list.’

He said the there gross irregularities and shortchange of delegates list to participate in free, fair and credible selection process, despite several efforts made to ensure that the right thing is done.

According to him: ‘’I feel taking this decision is the best for me and my supporters. I feel the issue at hand contradicts my belief and philosophy hence my resolve to withdraw.’’

He said the decision was tough, but as a Muslim he has the belief very strongly that power comes from Allah and only HE gives to whom HE wishes in all circumspect and that destiny will always over ride interests and wishes. It was on this premises that he officially regret to announce his withdrawal from the contest of Makarfi/ Kudan Federal Constituency seat.

He appealed to his supporters and well wishers to recall that since he presented himself to serve; seeking their mandate in the Federal House of Representatives under the APC, he and his team have traversed the constituency and carefully articulated the yearning of the people, with hope of getting solutions through better representation.

‘’Our Journey however exposes certain fundamentals and better understandings of the challenges which our people go through every now and then hoping for a miracle to happen, it is this singular force that continued to re-align and reinforces my resolve and commitment to serve.’’ He said.

He however expressed his disappointment that despite his commitment to serve and enormity of resources expanded, including the time and having consulted with his campaign team, his political associates and family, he has decided to take one of the most political decisions in his life.

‘’Let me at this junction appreciate the untiring support of my campaign team for believing in me and standing with me through thic and thin of this journey. I pray May Allah SWT continue to bless and guide you in all endeavors. He prayed.

Finally, the popular APC stakeholder expressed his continuous commitment to the party both at ward, state and national level which remains non-negotiable.

‘’My commitment to our great party the APC remains non-negotiable. My membership and loyalty to the party is unshaken, intact and unalloyed.’’ He concluded.’
