Breaking: Former Plateau Council boss Mutfwang clinches Plateau 2023 PDP guber ticket

A former chairman of Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang has been declared winner of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship primary of the State.

Mutfwang became the PDP flag bearer after polling 252 votes to defeat his closest opponent Chief Wungak Kefas who scored 113 votes.

Chairman of the electoral Panel, Hon. Bode Ogunmola on Thursday morning declared Hon Caleb Mutfwang winner having scored the highest votes after the primaries held at Langfield Park Jos.

Speaking after being declared the flag bearer of the party, Mutfwang appreciated the Leader of the party and former Governor of the State Sen. Jonah Jang, Sen. Istifanus Dung Gyang and all other National and State Assembly members, stakeholders, Party officials and all supporters of the party.

He said 26th May, 2022 marks the beginning of the process of chasing APC out of Plateau State and reclaiming the glory of Plateau State from the APC administration in the state.

He promised that he will give the people of Plateau State the leadership that they deserve.

Hon. Mutfwang scored a total of 252 votes to beat 18 other aspirants to clinch the party’s ticket ahead of the 2023 General elections.

Four other aspirants to include Dr. Timothy Golu, chief Letep Dabangs and others stepped down just before the election started.
