2023: Female aspirant, Maryam Ilu begs women for votes

As 2023 election continue to gather momentum, politicians are now hunting for support from delegates and electorate to actualize their ambition.

Hajiya Maryam Musa Mohammed Ilu, a female who is aspiring for the seat of Lafia/Obi Federal constituency in the green chamber has called on women in her constituency to vote for her during the election.

“Time has come when women should represent this constituency as male fork failed us severally since the inception of this present democracy.

She made the plea in an interview with CAPITAL POST in Lafia, saying that it’s high time for women to represent the Constituency in 2023.

“As I speak to you now we have tried male, but, what are we getting? It is always a negative side and they should try us for better result.

Hajiya Ilu was optimistic that if given the opportunity, she will change the narratives and provide women inclusiveness in governance.

She identified a gray areas where will be her cardinal point which include skill acquisition for women and youth, employment, agriculture and above all working closely with government to eradicate insecurity within her constituency.

Responding to question, if she is scared of losing the election in the hands of male folk contesting alongside with her, she said: “Frankly speaking, I have never been scared of anybody.

“Why should I be scared of them? It is not a physical fight, rather it is all about election, so, for anyone thinking I will be scared of that person should have a rethink.

The young female aspirant vowed that no amount of intimidation from any quota will jitter her to quit the race.

On whether she will decamp from the All Progressives Congress APC, if the election didn’t favor her, (Laugh), why should I decamp to where I’m a card carrying member of the party right from the day one.

“Let me assure you that I will win the election and I have never dreamed of losing this election.

She used the medium to call on all and sundry to continue to support government of the day for meaningful ventures to take place.
