Members of the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kabba-Bunu Ijumu Federal Constituency have finally rejected Bar. David Ayedogbon Shola popularly known as Charvid for the House of Representatives party primary coming up this week.

Our correspondent reliably gathered that those who rejected him said Bar. Shola is claiming Gbede as his community, but his is from Amuro community in Yagba federal Constituency.

Change of Name

Sources further disclosed that they will not allow him to get the APC ticket so that the opposition party will not capitalize on the mistake to defeat them.

“Ayedogbon Shola is originally from Amuro. His elder brother of the same parent is presently the Alamuro of Amuro, His Royal Highness, Chief Ayedogbon, hence, can Yagba produce two House of Representative candidates for the race of Kabba-Bunu/ Ijumu Federal Constituency”, an aggrieved APC member said.

They therefore urged APC supporters not to waist their votes during the primary. “We want somebody that will not be manipulated by any godfather in our community. We gathered that the Chairman of Ijumu local government council, Hon. Taofiq Issah who happened to be his friend is supporting him.

“Taofiq held a meeting in his house where he directed that his supporters should vote for Bar. Ayedogbon during the primary, no way it will not work. Shola can not come from Yagba to collect what is belonging to Kabba-Bunu,/Ijumu Federal Constituency

“We are calling on the governor of Kogi state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello and the party chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Bello to critically look into the issue. We don’t want the opposition to defeat our party during the main election and any error now will cost us defeat in 2023 general election,” aggrieved APC member said.
