Ahead of the 2023 general election, the Peoples Democratic Party stakeholders across Awe, Keana, and Obi in Nasarawa State have endorsed the former Federal lawmaker, Hon David Ombugadu for governorship.
Hon. David Ombugadu was a two term lawmaker who represented Akwanga/Wamba/Nasarawa Eggon Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and is seeking election as governor of the State on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Leader of the Stakeholders, Elder Mathew Akwe at a forum before endorsing Hon. Ombugadu penultimate week, recalled the aspirant’s commitment to the socio-economic and political development of his Federal Constituency at the time.
According to him, Nasarawa need a sound mind who would provide good leadership in order trigger the abundant natural resources in the State, lamenting that the situation, the State found itself in hands of the All Progressives Congress leadership wasn’t only pathetic, but highly retrogressive, given that no indigene of the State was proud of the happenings.
Speaking one after the other, stakeholders were unanimous that Hon. Ombugadu has ever been a focus person who has the will to pull Nasarawa State out of the odds of poverty being experienced by the electorate.
They advised the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on which platform Ombugadu is contesting not to gamble with the party ticket for Nasarawa governorship during the primaries.
Elder Mathew Akwe said: “We are all from Awe, Keana, Obi and are of the PDP stakeholders and we are here to endorse Hon David Ombugadu for Nasarawa State Governor.
“He understands the plight of the party and the people of Nasarawa State and we urge the party not to gamble with the party ticket.”
CAPITAL POST reports that the incumbent governor of the State, Engr Abdullahi Sule who is of the All Progressives Congress has purchased nomination form to contest for a second term of office.
