PDP Presidential aspirant
and former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has on Wednesday chased Journalists out of the Jos PDP Secretariat hall as he met with Plateau delegates as he shows his desperation to clinch the party’s presidential ticket in the forthcoming primary election.

The former Vice President who arrived the Plateau State PDP Secretariat at about 2:19pm looking drenched and exhausted, was visibly angry seeing a cream of Press correspondents and reporters and cameramen as he twice shouted fiercely at them and ordered them out saying ” I have nothing to do with journalists. I’m here to see delegates”.

Change of Name

Propelled by the misplaced and curious anger and frustration of Atiku, his aides and security details unleashed attack on the reporters, causing a stampede, and damaging the tripod and camera of the Channels Television crew.

Not even the host PDP officials and delegates could calm the fuming visitor and his entourage and make a case for the journalists who have covers visits to the delegates in the same Secretariat by other presidential contenders in the past three weeks.

Disappointed Party faithful who wondered why the former Vice President put up such a disappointing conduct during such a critical hour said unconfirmed reports ahead of the presidential candidate said he is so desperate that he would announce monetary gratification to the delegates before convention date to swing them to his side having learnt that the Plateau bloc vote is not meant for him during the primary.

With a total of 85 national delegates from Plateau, the former Vice President is said to be gnashing his teeth as his popularity has dropped significantly following national discourse on zoning, South East or Igbo Presidency in 2023, and the national mood against another Fulani succeeding Buhari.

Atiku’s burden of trust, depleted public perception, and unfavorable national mood were worsened recently after Muslims students of the Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto, murdered Deborah Joshua in an extra judicial context after charging spuriously of blasphemy. After claiming to have condemned the savage murder of Deborah Joshua, Atiku Abubakar quickly deleted his Twitter and Facebook statement to pitch tent with his threatening Muslim folks.
