Three days after the Nigeria’s Comptroller General of Customs, Colonel Hameed Ali (Rtd) got wedded to Zainab Abdullahi Yahaya in Kano, the wedding which hitherto held in low key is faced with legal liability.

The Comptroller General’s new wife, was alledgedly involved in a three year relationship with one, Mr. Zubairu Dalhatu Malamai with the intention to marry each other, but suddenly the relationship became frosty a week to last Saturday’s wedding ceremony with Hameed Ali.

In documents obtained by CAPITAL POST in Abuja on Monday, Mr. Zubairu Dalhatu Malamai has alleged that he invested heavily in Miss Zainab. According to him, he did that as part of security of their future as husband and wife, if they eventually got married.

Rattled by the development Zubairu Dalhatu Malamai has written to Mrs Zainab Hameed Ali (née Yahaya) through his lawyer, Buba Partners, demanding for refunds and other forms of restitution to avoid legal fireworks.

While Mr. Zubairu Dalhatu Malamai wished Zainab well in her new home, he also sought for return of other items he provided preparatory for their marriage before the turn of events.

Part of the letter reads: “Our brief as disclosed to us by our client is that for three years, you have been in a relationship with our client, where he has invested so much in your life, future and business when you consistently promised to marry him.

“Even though you knew so much deep down in your heart that you were decieving our client and you allowed him for all these years to continously spent money and resources on you while he was in the belief that he was doing that to his future wife.

In the letter which was issued on 22nd May, 2020 and signed by I. I. Wangida, urged for the refund of N9,801,207.45, failure which they “shall proceed to the Court for action.”

CAPITAL POST earlier reports that Nigeria Custom boss, Hameed Ali has remarried two years after losing first wife.

Ali on Saturday, 30th May, 2020, got married two years after losing his first wife wife, Hajiya Hadiza Jummai Ali, who died in Abuja on October 29, 2018, leaving four children.

Effort by our correspondent to reach the Custom boss did not yield results.
