Breaking: Okene LG Chairperson escapes assassin’s gunshots

Information reaching CAPITAL POST indicated that the acting Chairperson of Okene Local Government Council, on Kogi escaped being shot by suspected assassins on Thursday.

The acting Chairperson, Hajia Aliyu Avosuahi Bilikisu attended the security meeting which was presided by governor Yahaya Bello in Lokoja on Thursday and was returning to Okene before she was trailed to Osara, along the Okene-Lokoja expressway.

Source said, the suspected assassins open fire on her, but her security bravely repelled.

One of her aides confirming the attack described the incident as well coordinated, saying “the LG boss escaped by the whiskers and came out unhurt.”

The meeting was at the instance of governor Yahaya Bello which was well attended by all the Local Government Chairmen in Kogi State and other stakeholders.
