Plateau female philanthropist appreciates title, tours Berom Traditional Council

A Popular Plateau female philanthropist, Ngo Sarah Dagah who was recently bestowed with the Berom traditional title of ‘De Sele Jos’ by the Jos Joint Traditional Council has expressed her appreciation to the Gbong Gwom Jos, His Royal Majesty Da Jacob Gyang Buba and the Council for finding her worthy of the title.

Ngo Sarah Dagah who was accompanied by her parents, siblings, and members of the Sarah Dagah Foundation visited the Berom Traditional Rulers in Jos North, Jos South, Barkin Ladi and Riyom to appreciate the recognition of honour on her.

Change of Name

She appreciated the traditional rulers for finding her worthy of the title, De Sele Jos and solicited for their prayers and their royal blessings to deliver on the responsibilities.

Speaking on her interventions as the De Sele Jos through the Sarah Dagah Foundation, a Director with the Foundation, John Baling Fom said, Ngo Sarah Dagah has reached out to youths, widows and orphans who are in dire need of assistance through Scholarship and various Empowerment programmes.

According to her, she has also supported the National Association of Berom Students with computers, photocopying machine worth over a million naira, provided leadership training to the NUBES EXCO at National level and given scholarship to some young persons to study at the College of Accountancy, Kwall.

She added that with the titled of the De Sele Jos, Ngo Dagah through her Foundation intend to train the youth and the Indigent within the Berom nation with various skills Acquisition programmes and solicited the support of the traditional rulers to achieve this and other programmes she has outlined.

The visitation by the De Sele Jos Starting from the palace of the Da Gwom Kabong in Jos North Local Government Area, palace of the Da Gwom Rwey of Jos South, Da Nga Dangyang.

The team also moved to Riyom LGA where she was received by the Da Gwom Rwey of Riyom and the Ag District Head of Bachi and concluded the tour in Barkin Ladi LGA.

The traditional rulers who were excited with the visit by the De Sele Jos said it is the first of its kind from a title holder and described her as the Deborah of her time.

They prayed God to grant her the grace and strength to continue to serve the Berom nation.

They traditional rulers who expressed happiness with the contributions of the De Sele Jos to the development of the Berom nation pledged to work closely with her to address some issues affecting the growth of the Berom nation.

They also were full of praises to the parents of the De Sele Jos for teaching their Children good morals.
