Plateau 2023: Ex-ALGON official declares for governorship, pledge to restore peace
Former ALGON Secretary and Past Chairman of Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State under Governor Jonah Jang administration, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang has pledged to restore peace in Plateau state and to provide security that will guarantee the economy of the State for the prosperity of citizens.
He urged all Plateau citizens to be united and chase the All Progressives Congress (APC) out of power in Plateau and at the national level in 2023.
Barr. Mutfwang, who is a governorship aspirant on the platform of the PDP stated this on Wednesday when he visited the PDP State Secretariat, Jos to formally declare his ambition for governorship election in the state.
He pledged that Plateau people will not be disappointed if given him the mandate to lead them in 2023 as their governor, saying the task of chasing APC out of government is a collective task for everyone in the state.
“I am here today to inform the officials of the party, the State Chairman and all the leadership that I have a burden of Plateau and I am contesting for the governorship election in 2023 to redeem the state from the damage caused by the APC administration in the state”.
He appealed to all the delegates in Plateau to consider his aspirant for the prosperity of the state, saying he will unite the people of Plateau state.
“I will provide leadership to redeem the boundaries of Plateau state to ensure that the state bounce back to the home of peace and tourism, so I am here offering myself as the leader that will lead Plateau state to greatness”
Mutfwang lamented how Plateau and Nigeria has collapsed under the APC government where insecurity, injustice and all manner of discrimination thrives.
“Under the APC government today, there is insecurity everywhere, people cannot sleep in their homes, people cannot go to their farms but the time has come for us to change this government.
He said the APC government has not added any value to any aspect of life in Nigeria, but brought hardship to the masses, saying APC coming to power in 2015 was an accident from the Federal to the state level that has reduced the existence of Nigerians that have become the poverty capital of the world.
“Apart from the Presidential Primaries in 2014 that Produce President Buhari, there has been nothing democratic that the APC has done again”.
He urged the party leadership to allowed a free level playing ground for all aspirants to participate during the primaries for the will of God to prevail.

The PDP Chairman, Hon. Chris Hassan pledged that the party will be fair to all aspirants contesting various positions in the party, saying the time of imposition of candidate in the party has past.
He described Barr. Mutfwang as a strong party man that has also contributed to the development of the party at both grassroot and the state level, saying that there are several governorship aspirants that have also indicated interest and the party will be fair to all.
