Kidnappers mistook me for Adeboye, demanded for N100 million ransom – Apostle Okoriko

Akwa Ibom based televangelist, Apostle John Okoriko has recounted his ordeal in hands of kidnappers saying that he was mistook for the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG)

The Clergy who was released after four of his kidnap revealed that kidnappers demanded for N100 million ransom, but he insisted that he.has never seen or touch such money in his entire life.

Change of Name

He said his inability to pay ransom deepened his woes as they torture him daily in their den.

CAPITAL POST weeks ago reported that
the founder of the Solid Rock Kingdom Church, Apostle John Okoriko, was kidnapped at his church premises located at Mkpat Enin Local Government Area of Akwa-Ibom state.

Okoriko said he was abducted by
5 suspected gunmen as he was coming out of his church premises after a programme and was taken to an unknown destination.

“When they took me to their den, they demanded for 100 million ransom from me before I could be released, and when I could not afford that amount, they torture me severely, calling me Pastor E.A Adeboye of RCCG.

“They insisted that I was Pastor Adeboye and maintained that I must produce N100 million and keep torturing me.

“The torture continued until the fourth day when two of the kidnappers came to me, knelt before me, and started pleading for my forgiveness.”

He said, he prayed for the kidnappers upon their demand before releasing him without paying ransom.
