The management of REGAFRIK Projects, publisher of RegentAfrica Times newspapers announces the maiden edition of the company’s Public Lecture and Awards, scheduled for 12th May, 2022, with the theme: “Role of the Media in Security and Human Rights Reporting, Nigeria’s Image in Perspective”.

Organized in collaboration with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), with a common agenda aimed at bringing relevant stakeholders together to brainstorm on effective and implementable roadmap towards achieving a desired objective of a secured Nigeria devoid of human right abuses.

Change of Name

The awards segment of the programme, tagged: Humanitarian Awards; is coming in view of the fact that Human Rights abuses and their narratives bear similar traits across Africa, and the time is ripe to adopt multiple platforms where Human Rights Defenders and Humanitarian Champions can deliberate and be recognized for the work they do to encourage them and spur others to tow the noble path.

In a statement by the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief, Mr Shola Akingboye, said, the awards focuses on three categories carefully designed to honor individuals across both the Government quarters, Industry and the Non-Governmental Organization, with personalities who have proved their worth working for humanity as targets.

To herald the conference is the media launch of the three news platforms of RegentAfrica Times, marking the five years anniversary of the media house, both as general interest Magazine, the Online segment and the sister Energy Reports.

RegentAfrica Times Magazine, RegentAfrica Online and the RegentAfrica Energy publications, are veritable news platforms with a bias for promoting Human Rights agenda against all forms of gender-based violations and stereotypical abuses in Nigeria and Africa at large, hence the need for us to galvanize concerned stakeholders for a round table talk on how to nip the monster human rights abuses in Nigeria in the bud, in line with the niche carve for ourselves at RegentAfrica.
