NDLEA writes APC to carry out drug test on Tinubu, Osinbajo, others
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), has written to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), to carryout drug screening of their aspirants in line with the law of the agency.
The National leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu and the Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo will be screened in the letter sent to the APC.
The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NDLEA, Buba Marwa, on Wednesday disclosed this in Abuja saying that he sought the permission to conduct drug tests as part of the screening of ruling All Progressives Congress candidates for the 2023 presidential election.
Marwa looked forward for other political parties to encourage their aspirants to subject themselves to the psychotropic test of the NDLEA
Apart from Tinubu and Osinbajo, others who have declared presidential ambition on APC and are likely to face drug test are, Kogi State governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, Labour Minister, Dr. Chris Ngige, Transportation Minister, Chief Rotimi Amaechi.
Some politicians have previously been accused to have involved in drug trafficking, but it’s yet to be ascertained if NDLEA insistence on drug test was triggered by that.
