Osinbajo supporter brutalised on alleged order of campaign Coordinator, Aliyus
A member of a group supporting Prof. Yemi Osinbajo 2023 Presidential race was allegedly beaten mercilessly to a state of coma by some thugs working with Osinbajo Campaign Organization in Abuja.
Secretary, Niger Delta Peace Network Initiative, Mr. Rex Feremondi, who is still receiving treatment at Maitama General Hospital in Abuja, alleged that he was brutalized by three able bodied men while waiting to see the Director of Operation/Coordinator of the campaign organization, Mr. Murtala Aliyus.
Feremondi stated that he went to the campaign office on invitation by Aliyus, the Coordinator, saying that while waiting to see him at the reception, three men walked to him and demanded that he should leave.
“As the secretary of the group, I was invited to see Murtala Aliyus and after we had met, he asked me to wait for him at the reception. Suddenly, three men came to meet me demanding to know the person I was waiting for and of course I told them that I was waiting to see the Campaign Coordinator before I leave. They insisted that I should leave the premises and without waiting for further explanation, they started beating me until I fell down” he said.
Feremondi, who accused Murtala Aliyus, Idris Jibrin and two other of masterminding the attack on him, asserted that the matter has since been reported to Maitama Police Station in Abuja.
“Police has invited them severally over the matter, but they refused to go and as ‘am talking to you, they have not gone to see the police for questioning and police is no longer making any move to bring them to book” he stated.
When contacted the national Coordinator of the Niger Delta Peace Network Initiative, Mr. Corson Miembi to authenticate the story, he said his Secretary was actually attacked and beaten even though he was at the campaign office on invitation.
However, Counsel to the group, Barr. C.S. Peters of God’s People Legal Consult has vowed to take the matter to the logical conclusion, ensuring that the culprits will be made to face the wrath of the law.
