2023 Kogi East Senate: Echocho declares, list achievements
Senator Isah Jibrin (Echocho) representing Kogi East Senatorial District has declared his ambition to contest for a second time in 2023 on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The lawmaker in the upper legislative Chamber who is a first timer also listed his achievements in terms of infrastructure and legislative feats since he first became Senator in 2019.
According to his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mikail Ibrahim, said the parliamentarian made the declaration on Monday at an event that was attended by the party Elders Advisory Council, State Executive, Zonal Chairman, Divisional party Chairmen across the 9 (nine) LGAs, stakeholders, and the party members at Ejule, Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The Senator added that his second tenure, if elected would afford him opportunity to offer meaningful leadership and further dividends of democracy as there were more privileges available for a ranking Senator.
The statement said: “My intention to run for the second term come 2023 is to continue to bring more infrastructure development to our people,” he said.
The lawmaker thanked his constituents for their support so far, promising that that he would reciprocate much more when elected for the second term of office.
Echocho thanked His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello for giving him the mandate to represent the people of Kogi East at the Senate of the National Assembly, assured that he will not disappoint in loyalty service delivery.
He listed his achievements within a period three years among many others as:

Reactivation of Acharu Oil Mill Plant in Egume;
Construction of Rice Milling Plant in Ejule-Ojebe;
Construction of 33 (thirty three) Boreholes across the 9 (Nine) LGAs;
Construction of 3 (three) blocks of classrooms in 3 (three) schools;
Construction of 3 (three) Health centres in 3 (three) different locations;
Construction of 2 (two) feeder roads
Construction of Skill Acquisition centre, at Anyigba;
Rural Electrification with transformers in 5 (five) towns in Ankpa and Omala LGAs;
Distribution of 13 (thirteen) tractors to the 9 (nine) LGAs;
Distribution of various farming equipments such as harvesters, sprayers, peelers, thresher and hand carrier motorized weeder to 9 (nine) LGAs
Installation of 230 (two hundred and thirty) Solar Lights in various communities;
Provision of drugs and medical equipment to various health centres in the 9 (nine) LGAs;
Reactivation of Kogi State University Bakery, and provision of a delivery bus to the school.
Empowerment facilitated across the 9 (nine) LGAs:
Distribution of Keke napep and Motorcycles across the 9 (nine) LGAs;
Distribution of Grinding Machines;
Distribution of Sewing Machines;
Distribution of Hair Dressing equipment;
Distribution of Baking Kits;
Distribution of Phone repair Kits;
Distribution of Generators;
Training and Cash grants in various entrepreneurial skills, ranging from N20,000 to N100,000 across the 9 (nine) LGAs;
Employment Facilitated:
Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS);
Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC);
Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC);
Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC);
Federal Fire Service;
Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency;

He used the occasion to highlight some projects captured into the 2022 budget for maximum benefit of his constituents, to include
Construction of Rice Milling Plant in Abejukolo;
Construction of Cashew Processing Plant in Ogbabo Udachi;
Construction of Cassava Processing Plant in Ankpa;
Continuation of On-going Construction of 2 (two) feeder roads;
Construction of 2 (two) new feeder roads;
Installation of Solar light at Various locations (800 points);
Installation of Transformers in various communities;
Supply of Educational materials to various schools;
Construction of Boreholes;
Construction of Blocks of classrooms;
Construction of mini Cashew Processing Plant in Kogi State University;
Construction of Town hall!
Construction of modern market. Adding that he will improve on his entrepreneurship training and grants to youths and women, subsequently.
