Allege sex scandal: MTN’s Chief Risk Officer, Ilok to quit after spending 19 years
LThe Mobile Telecommunications Nigeria, MTN’s Chief Risk and Compliance Officer, Mr Cyril Ilok has resigned from the communications giant over alleged sex scandal involving him.
Ilok has spent 19 years with MTN until recently when his female colleagues accused him of exploiting them sexually.
Also, accused of sexual harassment and dubious transactions is the Chief Sales and Distribution Officer, Mr. Adekunle Adebiyi.
The accusation was secretly mailed
to MTN Group’s General Manager, Forensic Services, Nerisha Singh, between April 2021 and February 2022 by female employees under the moniker ‘The Anonymous Whistle Blowers.’
It was reported that female employees of MTN have been sexually exploited by Mr Adebiyi, but were afraid of being sacked from their job, hence, they have to maintain ‘forceful silence’, until the lid was finally blown open.
Further more, Mr Cyril Ilok and head of forensics were accused of womanising together and they would not allow petitions to flow to the appropriate officer for investigations, according to the statement.
While sex scandal in MTN office has since cost Mr Adebiyi’s job, Mr Cyril Ilok has tendered his resignation in lieu till September, 2022.
In the letter announcing his resignation on Wednesday to the capital market authority, NGX, MTN Nigeria didn’t state the reason for his exit, but the firm had said it will investigate the claims of the female employees against the mentioned individuals, adding that much evidence wasn’t included in the email.
