2023 presidential form: I budgeted only N50 million, not N100 million – Ngige
Minister of Labour, Employment and productivity and the 2023 presidential aspirant, Dr Chris Ngige, has revealed he initially budgeted the sum of N50 million for expression of interest and nomination form.
The Medical Doctor turned politician on Tuesday declared interest to contest 2023 presidential election on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
However, the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of APC had on Wednesday after the meeting announced N100 million and N50 million for presidential and governorship forms respectively.
Speaking on Channels Television’s current affairs programmeon Thursday, Dr Ngige, however, succumbed to the decision of the party, saying he would mobilise his friends to make up the sum of N100 million for him.
He described the APC National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu as “a serious minded person,” as he recalled his days with him in the Nigerian Governors’ Forum and the Senate.
He said the ruling party has made up its decision before arriving at the various amounts for elective offices, hence, everyone will have to abide by that, adding that they have their reasons for staking it high owing to the fact that they are the ruling party.
