Army repels attack on Malari community in Mafa outskirt of Maiduguri, Thursday evening

Nigerian Army repels attack on Malari Community in Mafa Local Govt Area, off Alkomi police hospital, along Muna garage, Dikwa Road, Maiduguri, Borno State.

Malari Town came under attack at about 7:00pm where loud explosion was heard followed by sporadic gunshot that lasted minutes.

According our source, the attackers suspected to be Boko Haram/ISWAP elements launched attack on military formation guarding the trenches in the area.

Many people including women and children scampered into the city centre for safety. Women and children were seen rushing toward the Custom area, Kenanan Yobe, college of Agriculture alongside with their aged ones.

The situation is still not clear despite the fact sanity has since been restored.
