Passengers of newly imported vehicle involved in accident abducted in Kogi

All passengers in a newly imported vehicle which had accident on Wednesday around Ijagbe community in the Mopa Muro Local Government Council in Kogi West Senatorial district have been kidnapped, according to local sources.

Similarly, bandits kidnapped an unspecified number persons from the Ijagbe community in the Mopa-Muro Local Government Area of Kogi State amid heightening insecurity in Kogi West Senatorial district.

Newsmen were hinted how bandits highjacked a passenger bus and directed all passengers in the bus into the forest.

The empty bus was said to have been left behind and was still there as at the journalists were being being briefed by a local in Ijagbe community, adding that the kidnappers were yet to make.any contact.

He explained that the incident took place in the morning hours at Ijagbe community on the highway in Mopamuro LGA.

He said, “They hijacked passengers of a passenger bus and another car, it was one of these ‘Tokunbo’ (imported fairly used) vehicles; the vehicle even had an accident and crashed into a tree but they still entered and picked the occupants.

“It happened yesterday (Wednesday) morning around 7 am. They’ve not contacted anyone but police and vigilantes are in the bush searching for the bandits and victims.”

Meanwhile, Kogi State Police Command was yet to issue any official statement.
