Unknown gunmen and Niger Delta Militants are currently forming alliance in Anambra forests to confront the State.
Anambra is in the Eastern region of Nigeria and is a hotbed of Eastern Security Network (ESN), a militant arm of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
The partnership of criminal elements, according to POLITICS NIGERIA which was seen by CAPITAL POST is part of efforts to link up with Niger Delta Avengers (NDA), a militant group that sprung up in the Niger Delta Region in March 2016.
The online in its exclusive report noted that the gunmen were set to make sure that operations are widened so that there would be no traces of them after attacks.
A security agent acting on intelligence was quoted to have said: “Some of the unknown gunmen operating in parts of imo and Anambra are relocating to the thick forests of Amiyi and Ogwuaniocha in Ogbaru LGA of Anambra state,” a top security source disclosed.
Speaking on their grand plan, the source added; “First they will link up with Niger delta militants. And with the water there, attack and retreat will be easy for them and possibly difficult for security forces because of the terrain”.
The paper could not immediately get the comments of the spokesperson of the Department of State Security (DSS) and the Anambra State Police command as their telephones were unreachable on Thursday.
