Tension in Abuja as truck load of strangers arrives FCT, Niger boundary for unknown mission
Weekend was a busy time for residents
of Angwan-Fulani, Dakwa area, a boundary community between the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Niger as trucks with unprofiled number of strangers from undisclosed place arrived the community for unknown mission.
The strangers were offloaded at an enclosed land near the popular Dantata junction along the Kubwa-Zuba expressway and their presence cause panic among those watching them.
While they were being offloaded residents expressed fear even as robbery cases, car snatching, kidnapping and burglary has been on the rise in recent times.
Motorists from Gwagwalada to Abuja city centre as well as those plying Zuba to Giri also expressed concern, wondering where were they coming from and to where?
A resident, Philomena Kalafere, who confirmed the influx of strangers told the medium, “Yes, I saw them on my way back from work. A big lorry brought them with their loads. Men, women and children; they were moving their things into the fenced land”.
Similarly, Abdullahi Audu, said, “Harbouring strange or unknown faces at a time like this in our community when terrorists are penetrating everywhere is very dangerous.
“We can’t afford to accommodate individuals who will perpetrate evil or put our community in danger”.
