2023: Senator Marafa, Ex-governor Yari defect to PDP

Former governor of Zamfara a State and former APC National Chairmanship aspirant, Alhaji Abdullaziz Yari has defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of 2023 general election.

Also, Senator Kabiru Marafa has dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) membership for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Both APC Chieftains were warmly welcomed to the PDP fold, according to
the Chairman of the opposition PDP in the state, retired Colonel Bala Mande.

Mande on Sunday in Gusau announced the defection of the two politicians after a stakeholders meeting, where a deal was struck.

According to Col. Bala Mande, PDP has reached an agreement with Senator Kabiru Marafa and Abdullaziz Yari to work for the development of the party.

“We have all agreed to work for the development of the party and the PDP in the state has welcome them to its fold. We will ensure justice and fairness to all members even after we have won elections in 2023.”

“The date for their grand reception to our party will be announced later but we are going to implement all the agreements reached during the stakeholders meeting,” Col. Mande said.

“Yes , it is true we are moving to opposition PDP, and this is all I can say for now,” Birnin Magaji said.
