2023 Declaration: Tinubu disowns Osinbajo
The National leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), and a two term former governor of Lagos, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu has reacted to the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo’s declaration to contest for the 2023 presidential election.
Osinbajo made a declaration on Monday to contest after a long silence on whether he would contest or not, given that his political godfather, Tinubu has since made his intention known.
Reacting, Tinubu who has been going round consulting with stakeholders on his presidential ambition said the number two man is not his son.
He reacted while speaking with journalists after he met with 12 governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday at Kebbi Government Lodge in Abuja.
Tinubu called for the meeting few hours after Prof. Yemi Osinbajo declared interest where 12 out 19 governors attended.
His words on Osinbajo: “I don’t have any son, grown up enough to make such declaration.”
He, however, said his meeting with state governors on the platform of the party is to seek collaboration, support and encouragement concerning his 2023 presidential ambition.
