Breaking: Soldiers intercept N100 million Bank of Agric MD’s ransom money

Barely 24 hours after payment of N100 million ransom to terrorists that led to the release of the kidnapped Bank of Agriculture Managing Director, Alwal
Hassan, the ransom has been intercepted and recovered by soldiers.

Huge wads of cash collected from terrorists was recorded in a video that CAPITAL POST was still making inquiries of where it was recorded.

Change of Name

The footage however, showed soldiers surrounding a vehicle with Kano number filled with cartons full of cash.

Cartons of eggs were used to disguise the loads that the car which is red in colour was carrying and were recovered with the money.

The vehicle was registered in Kano with ‘FGE-959TC’.

CAPITAL POST earlier reported that terrorists have released the Managing Director of the Bank of Agriculture citing age and Ramadan as reasons he was released. However, our correspondent gathered from a source closed to negotiations that a sum of N100 million was paid to terrorists as ransom before the MD was released on Wednesday.

The terrorists have earlier claimed responsibility for bombing the Abuja-Kaduna bound train on Monday last week leading to deaths of passengers with scores abducted
