Ahead of 2023, a media mogul and businessman, Mr Dumebi Kachikwu will declare his interest to contest the presidential election on Wednesday in Abuja.

In a statement which he issued and sent to CAPITAL POST on Tuesday, Mr Kachikwu who is the proprietor of Roots Television, said he will reveal plans to contest the presidential election through
a virtual broadcast to Nigerians.

Change of Name

The presidential hopeful said, he will unfold strategy on how his administration will rescue Nigeria, if voted into office as President, adding that the current administration was grossly incompetent in the handling of security challenges.

According to the statement, Kachikwu had stirred the political hornets nest on January 16, 2022 through a video he posted on his Roots TV YouTube page titled: ‘Nigerian Syndrome’.

In the eight minute video, Kachikwu traced the genesis of Nigeria’s problems to her colonial masters which he argued had set Nigeria up to fail by creating the country along religious and ethnic lines.

The official declaration, the statement noted, will be live on all Kachikwu’s social media platforms, while Nigerians yearning for a change are expected to follow @dumebikachikwu on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, among others.

“Kachikwu strongly believes that the 2023 general election presents a golden opportunity to all who are discontented, dissatisfied and tired of toxic leadership to rise up, organise and take action to rescue Nigeria.

He said, Nigerians should rise up to effect a change of government through in 2023, stating that the present political leaders have failed the nation.
