Breaking: Ex-DIG’s son killed by terrorists in Zamfara
The son of the former Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) and the current Commissioner for Security and Home Affairs’s son has been killed by bandits on Sunday in Tsafe, Zamfara State.
The ex-DIG, Mamman Tsafe is a Commissioner in the administration of Alhaji Bello Matawalle.
Eyewitness account explained that Terrorists stormed Tsafe, headquarters of Tsafe Local Government Council on Sunday evening and killed 3 persons, while others sustained gunshot injuries.
The criminal elements were dressed in military camouflage, and stormed
Shiyar Namada area close to the Commissioner’s residence and opened fire on people.
CAPITAL POST was told the residents thought the marauders actually military men as their camouflage looks new.
“The commissioner’s son, alongside some other people were seated at the frontage of DIG Ibrahim Mamman Tsafe’s residence during iftar when suddenly the armed men showed up and started firing at every one on sight.”
“During the attack most people observing Tarawih prayer in several mosques around the area and residents had to flee to safety. The armed men later withdrew into the forest. As I’m talking to you I’m at the Waziri’s residence where preparations for their funeral are underway,” a resident revealed.
