2023: Senator Shehu Sani hints on using ECOMOG soldiers to fight terrorism, if voted Kaduna governor

As reactions continue to trail terrorists’ endless attacks in Kaduna, the gubernatorial aspirant on 2023 general election, Senator Shehu Sani said, he would recall the Economic Community of West African States Monitoring Group (ECOMOG) soldiers to tackle terroris in the State.

Sani said the ECOMOG fought in Liberia and Sierra Leone wars and succeeded, hence they have the experience and capacity to tackle terrorists in Kaduna State.

Shehu Sani who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial district in the National Assembly on his Facebook post on Saturday added that his administration would train the locals to defend themselves and their ancestral lands.

He was reacting to rampage being orchestrated by terrorists leading to killings and wanton destruction on daily basis in Kaduna State.

CAPITAL POST recalled that on Monday, the Abuja-Kaduna bound train was bombed by terrorists leading to scores dead, while unconfirmed number of passengers were abducted.

The former lawmaker and Civil Rights activist also disclosed that community volunteers would work under the Kaduna Peoples Revolutionary Action Against Terrorism (KAPRAAT).

He wrote: “As the Governor of Kaduna State I will recall the ECOMOG soldiers who fought in Liberia and Sierra Leone wars to lead the battle; and I shall organize and train communities and villages in Northern and Southern Kaduna to defend their ancestral land and take on the terrorists by establishing the Kaduna People’s Revolutionary Action Against Terrorism KAPRAAT.”
