2023: Senator Dimka joins governorship race to succeed Lalong
Senator representing Plateau Central zone at the National Assembly, Senator Hezekiah Dimka has on Tuesday declared his intention to contest the 2023 governorship election in the State to succeed Governor Lalong
Dimka a retired Commissioner of Police in Imo State said he would run for the Governorship position on the platform of All Progressives Congress APC
The first term Senator and Chairman, Senate Committee on drugs and Narcotics stated this while declaring his intention to contest for the Governor of Plateau State at his country home, Pada Ward in Kabwir, community of Kanke local Government Area of Plateau State.
“Leveraging on my experience as former police chief who served in other challenging situations across the land, i make bold to state my motivation and commitment to cause a different intervention in securing our communities and return Peace to our People”.
According to him, said if elected as governor of the state he intend to make education the backbone of his Government.
Dimka noted that despite the efforts of past and present administrations, “poverty is still massively prevalent in our homes which among other things is the reason am declaring my intention to run for the position of Governor of Plateau”.
He said: “But despite all their efforts, youths and human capital development are still suffering in Plateau, while poverty is still massively prevalent in our homes which among other things is the reason am declaring my intention to run for the position of Governor of Plateau State with the intention to do things differently by the grace of God if given the opportunity to serve the people.
“With the above experiences, and more, my governorship race will be in total engagement with the youths, the suffering workers, artisans, middle class, core professionals, our elders and those who desire human and rural development of Plateau State.
“Our Government, if elected will be basically welfarist and building the capacity of our economy, so that we can provide jobs for the youths and make Plateau attractive, suitable and secured for businesses.
He added that if elected, his administration shall use industry and other revenue generating avenues to the advantage of the state.
Senator Dimka had visit Council Headquarters of Kanke, where he was received by the Council Chairman, Hon. Gotip Jan Henry at the Yakubu Gowon Secretariat Kwal as well as pay a homage to the District Head of Kabwir, HRH Nde Dominic Gofwen and sought for his royal blessings.
