It is most shocking and appalling to wake up to the reality that in Kogi State today, Public Servants which were long reputed to be the backbone of economic drivers in the State, have now been reduced to a pathetic status.
In chief among these Public Servants, are the Medical Doctors.

Change of Name

There is no gainsaying the fact that Medical Doctors in Kogi State have been ‘gate keepers’ for the health needs of the teeming populace from within and outside the State, and have been the symbol of prestige for the general standing of Kogi State in the comity of States, for a sound management of Healthcare Delivery System over all.

The essentiality of the services being daily delivered by Doctors and the risk they take on our (Masses) behalf should be rewarded by prompt and complete payment of their emoluments and salaries.

The government in Kogi State under the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello, has reduced the Doctors in Kogi State to an insolvent status by this payment of percentage salary.

Hence, Doctors are heavily groaning as they are unable to meet up with their financial responsibility due to this fractional payment, which has led to a palpable low morale vis-a-vis in the discharge of their official duty.
Already, three Medical Consultants have left the services of the Kogi State Specialist Hospital Lokoja.

I, Prince Abrahams Ogaji, a concerned Kogi Citizen, and a friend of Doctors, am imploring the government of Kogi State under His Excellency governor Yahaya Bello, to immediately direct the reversal of the percentage payment made to Doctors, and the balance paid back to them and to ensure that this trend of fractional or percentage payment does not continue!

This is to forestall Doctors leaving the service of Kogi State government in droves.
