Speaking at the venue of the event held at Pankshin Mini Stadium Gagdi described the gesture as part of his appreciation and empowerment to his supportive constituents.
“To me, politics is about your relationship with the common man. Politics and leadership are dependent on the people you think are nobody. The way I view humanity could be different from other leaders.
“I see impacting on humanity as religion because when you touch the lives of the people, you are equally discharging your responsibility as a creature of God.
According to the federal lawmaker, he has passed through poverty. ”I could not finish Senior Secondary 3 when I was supposed to because I didn’t have money to pay school fees.
“If today God has blessed me and I cannot think back to remember what I used to be and the trouble I passed through, then I am not human.
“If I fail to think that the people that pushed me to the position I am required to touch their lives and do the needful for them, it means I am not a nice person.
He added that “As a leader, you are a servant and the people should not serve leaders but leaders should serve the people, To me, that is the real definition of leadership in practical terms,” he further said.
The House of Representatives Committee Chairman on Navy said that he entered a covenant with God to represent his people and discharge his responsibility to the best of his ability.
He promised that with their prayer and God keeping him alive, they would change the face of Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam for the better.
Gagdi added that because he had God and the people on his side, he was not afraid of the conspiracy theories being peddled against him.
He expressed joy that he successfully sponsored the bill that brought about the upgrading of the Federal College of Education to the University of Education, Pankshin.
“Today, I stand here with the gazette of the Federal University Education and the governor of Plateau with the Federal Government are working hard to get who will be the pioneer vice-chancellor of the university,” he said.
In a goodwill message, the Speaker, Plateau House of Assembly, Yakubu Sanda, said that Gagdi was a good example of what the All Progressives Congress stands for.
Sanda urged the people of the constituency to stay in peace with one another so as to continue to enjoy the dividend of democracy.
According to him, leadership comes from God and those who succeed today will succeed tomorrow.
The state APC Chairman, Chief Rufus Bature, said that by the grace of God, Gagdi and APC did not disappoint the people of Pankshinn/Kanke/Kanam.
The Chairman of the event, Nde John Gobak on his part, said Gagdi had impacted all facets of human life with his programmes and projects.
Gobak said: “When he asked me to share his blueprint, I asked him, young man, what if you fail to execute what you have written here?
“He told me that God will help him, and true to his word, he has succeeded, Gobak stressed.
