Former Senator who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial district in the 8th National Assembly, Shehu Sani has been described as a friend and brother to the Southern Kaduna people.
His Lordship, Julius Kundi who is the Catholic Bishop of Kafanchan stated that the Southern Kaduna people see Sen. Shehu Sani, a Kaduna governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as their friend and brother for speaking against injustice meted on the people of the region.
The clergy stated this when the former Senator paid him homage at his official residence in Madakiya in Zango Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Friday.
“The Southern Kaduna region that you’re visiting and fraternising with are people who value friendship and do not take that for granted, stressing that they reward friendship because they’re proud people and independent.
“A Southern Kaduna nan is a proud man. He doesn’t need anybody to survive, all he wants is to be at peace with everybody,” Kundi said.
According to him, the Southern Kaduna people are looking up to God and individuals who will actually speak for them because they’ve lost their joy, voice, happiness and everything, adding that the only thing that cannot be taken away from them is their faith in God, no matter what happened.
“The people you’re sueing for support are hurt and nobody seems to come out and empathize with them and that has hurt them seriously.
The Bishop while expressing worry over the incessant killings in the region, lamented that there was anger in the land, noting that the anger has been taken for granted,” he said.
Adding, “I hope you that have new ideas will not take the anger of the people for granted. I am assuring you, whoever that will really help us out of this quagmire, we’re ready to go with the person because the Church has always proven to stand to whoever that is just and honorable.
Earlier, Senator Shehu Sani described the First Bishop of the Diocese, late Bishop Bagobiri as dogged and fearless clergy who stood for justice and fairness adding that, he was someone who speak truth to power.
“I am here to pay homage to you and to seek for your spiritual backing because our State need prayers more than any other State in Nigeria today”, Sani said.
He further noted that It is obvious the “political class need the backing of God and Spiritual leaders like you to free this State and salvage this country for ourselves.
“We’re at a point in the history of our country where people are getting worried that the symptoms of a failing State is evident due to the crises we are faced with as a people.
“As we move forward to a new opportunity and a new platform for our people to elect a new set of leaders this time around, it is not only vote that would deliver us, but we also need prayers.” he added.
