Buhari abandons UK medical trip, returns home from Kenya
President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to Nigeria from Kenya on Friday where he participated in the 50th Anniversary of the UN Environmental Programme (UNEP) in Nairobi.
Buhari was expected to proceed on a two weeks medical trip to the United Kingdom after United Nations assignment, but surprisingly returned home.
The Presidency earlier indicated that Buhari would embark on a two week trip to the UK. He has been frequenting the UK on medical issues.
His return was announced by his
aide on New Media, Bashir Ahmed.
Ahmed’s post on his verified Twitter handle on Friday said, “President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to Abuja, after his participation in the 50th Anniversary of the UN Environmental Programme (UNEP) in Nairobi, Kenya”.
Details were sketchy on Friday, he it wasn’t known why Buhari changed his mind from his initial plan.
