Anger and condemnation trails President Muhammadu Buhari’s donation of a whooping sum of $1 million to the war-torn Islamic Republic of Afghanistan without approval of the National Assembly.
A section of angry Nigerians condemned the development, saying that the gesture amid hardship and hunger was against the will of citizens.
The Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hissein Brahim Taha, in a statement made it known that the Nigerian government under President Muhammadu Buhari has donated the sum of $1 million over the humanitarian crisis in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
The statement averred that the donation would ease Humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, even as it will help in catering for the needs of millions of the people.
It said, the OIC would continue to strive to help women and children of Afghanistan’s.
Meanwhile, our correspondents who covers legislative activities of the Senate and the House of Representatives reports that there was never a time, that President Buhari sought for approval of the parliament to donate such amount to Afghanistan.
Some Nigerians who took to their Twitter handles to express their feelings, tackled the president for allegedly ignoring the numerous challenges in the country to donate such an amount to the Islamic nation.
