Horror as Police officer gunned down six colleagues in Borno

A policeman has reportedly shot and killed six of his colleagues in a bizzare manner in Maiduguri, capital of Borno State.

The development has left anger and tension among the Police community in the State.

Simply identified as Sergeant Bello, it was gathered he opened fire out of anger due to domestic unresolved issues he earlier had with his wife at the police college quarters of Borno Police headquarters in Maiduguri.

An eye witness narrated that his neighbours tried all they could to intervene in the misunderstanding between him and his wife, but he resisted them.

The wife was said to have left her matrimonial home due to maltreatment.

“He started shooting and threatened to kill everyone. Unfortunately, he shot people, but six mobile policemen died and two others are currently receiving treatment at Specialist Hospital,” a source said.

The officer was also reported to have razed down two blocks of eight rooms in the process, while also shooting his father-in-law.
