Ex-Permsec, Echono appointed TETfund Executive Secretary

The immediate past Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Mr Sunny Echono has been appointed as Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND).

The appointment of Mr Echono by President Muhammadu Buhari was contained in a statement by the Director Press and Public Relations, Ben Bem Goong on Friday in Abuja.

Echono’s appointment takes immediate effect and he will take over from the outgoing Executive Secretary, Prof. Sulaiman Bogoro.

Bogoro has spent a five year tenure and will complete his tenure on 18th March 2022.

The statement described Echono as an accomplished technocrat who is expected to brings to the job, diverse wealth of experience spanning Infrastructure, business administration, procurement management, ICT and the education sectors.

Prior to this appointment, Echono retired from his position as the Education Ministry’s Permanent Secretary on the 6th of January 2022 after 35 years in public service.
