Kaduna gov’t pledges collaboration with immigration
The government of Kaduna State on Wednesday pledged a better collaboration with the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).
This was made known on Wednesday, when the Deputy governor, Dr Hadiza Balarabe received a delegation of NIS led by the ACG, Zainab Lawal, the Assistant Comptroller-General in charge of Zone B on a courtesy call to her office in Kaduna.
She assured the ACG of Kaduna State’s resolve to collaborate with the Service, noting that the zonal command should do all it could to tackle security threats.
The Deputy governor described as a blessing for a female immigration officer to have been allowed to control one of the biggest zone, insisting that Kaduna State government would give support for her to succeed.
She also commended NIS for the services they had been rendering to the public in the state in terms of issuance of international passport booklets and others.
“I know you have a lot to do with movements of people along the borders since that is where we have security challenges,” she said.
In her remarks, the ACG Zainab Lawal, the new Zonal coordinator of Zone B (northwest) comprising: Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Jigawa, Sokoto, Zamfara, Illela and Jibia special borders, described the zone as the largest zone among the Nigeria Immigration Services zones across the country.
She said she was in the Deputy governor’s office to register her presence and to officially inform the State government that NIS is operating in Kaduna, while she invited the State government to participate in the
upcoming zonal meeting to discuss security issues within the zone
