Abuja High Court judge turned down Abba Kyari’s bail application
A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has turned down the embattled Abba Kyari’s bail application on Monday.
The Court presided by Justice Inyang Ekwo told the DCP Kyari on Monday to serve the respondent; and the Federal Republic of Nigeria with the processes filed.
Justice Ekwo ruled on the exparte motion where Kyari’s lawyer, Cynthia Obianuju Ikena and adjourned the case till 24th February, 2022.
The judge submitted that the allegation against the suspended DCP is weighty which required being listen to, before the Court takes decision.
Kyari is challenging his continued detention in the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency’s facility.
He claimed to be suffering from chronic diabetes, which he said was threatening his life and therefore requires urgent medical attention.
Abba Kyari was arrested in connection with drug dealers in Ethiopia and Brazil by the anti-drug agency in Nigeria. Video evidence was also released.
