Breaking: Terrorists’ bomb explosion kill several Civil Defence officers in Niger

Niger State was thrown into confusion on Monday as explosive device believed to have been planted by the marauding terrorists exploded, killing many Civil Defence officers, while several others were seriously injured.

CAPITAL POST learnt that the explosion happened at Galadima Kogo in Shiroro Local Government Area, killing unspecified number of operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC).

Several others were also seriously injured.

The terrorists who came in large numbers were said to have taken over the community and are currently killing and maiming innocent people.

The source said, the bomb explosion made it difficult for other security agents to access the community as at filing this report.

The men of the Joint Security Task Force, which include the Military, Police, NSCDC and local hunters, were on their way to Galadima Kogo when they stepped on landmines and explosive devices planted by terrorists.

Niger State Police Command was yet to react to the ugly incident before this report is being filed.
