INEC called upon to deploy physical enumeration during voter registration
The House of Representatives on Thursday, called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to urgently deploy physical enumeration and other assistance to conduct new voter registration across all constituencies.
Hon. Abubakar Makki Yalleman, while speaking, said that INEC was established to among other things, organize elections in Nigeria as well as put all necessary processes in place for the successful conduct of elections in Nigeria.
He was concerned that Mallam Madori/ Kaugama Federal constituency, which he represented, and many other Federal constituencies have been placed at disadvantaged position due to non-availability of registration centers, officials, inadequate supply, insufficient operational tools and equipment as well as inadequate enlightenment programmes.
This, he said, has resulted to lower figures being recorded within the constituency.
Hon. Abubakar Makki Yalleman urged that the Independent National Electoral Commission takes immediate steps to conduct physical registrations throughout the federation.
