Plateau PRP is solid enough to win Jos North/Bassa by-election, says party stalwart
A stalwart of the Plateau chapter of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Mallam Aliyu Haidar says the party is solid enough to win Jos North/Bassa by-election as there is no any division in the State.
Haidar, who is also the party’s Chairman in Naraguta B ward of Jos North Local Government Area of the state, said this when he led other members of the party on a peaceful rally in Jos.
According to him, the party in the state has been united and warned that anyone trying to cause chaos and division would be shown the way out.
“PRP in Plateau state under the leadership of Mallam Rabiu Lawan is a united and peaceful family.
“Some elements in the party have continued to orchestrate acts capable of bringing division among the party members. And anybody who wants to bring confusion within the party shall be dealt with in accordance with its constitution,” he said.
On the forthcoming Bassa/Jos North Federal constituency by-election, Haidar maintained that Muhammad Adam, remained its flagbearer for the polls, adding that any attempt to substitute him will be vehemently opposed.
“Since the emergence of Hon. Muhammad Adam as our flagbearer in the Jos North/Bassa Federal constituency by-election slated for Feb. 26, we have noticed that some elements in the party have continued to orchestrate acts capable of bringing division amongst us.
“This is why the party faithfuls decided to stage this peaceful protest to register their disaffection with the ongoing moves to replace him with another aspirant.
“The details of Adam has been published by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the candidate of our party for the forthcoming polls and anybody who tries to replace him will not succeed.
He assured the party faithfuls that the relevant authorities have been duly notified of the activities of the impostors and action is under way.
Haidar therefore called on members to conduct themselves lawfully and peacefully as they go about campaigning for its candidate for the forthcoming election.
