Makinde’s impeachment plot against deputy reportedly leaked

Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde and his deputy, Engr. Raufu Olaniyan have been at each other’s jugular over COVID-19 activities in the State.

The ‘no love lost’ between Seyi Makinde and his deputy, has gotten impeachment plot in place in the Oyo State House of Assembly.

At present however, the plot was being leaked by the House of Assembly members loyal to the Deputy governor.

The difficulty to Makinde’s alleged inclination was that the lawmakers were not favourably disposed to it, allegedly due to harmonious relationship they have with the deputy which they do not enjoy with his principal.

Last week, they were at a meeting where they were being lobbied to buy into the plot but in the midst of the deliberation some of them were confiding in Olaniyan about the agenda.

“When the lawmakers were hauled into a hotel by a top member of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) to sell the idea of a likely impeachment of the Deputy Governor, most of them were busy with text and WhatsApp messages (on the spot), leaking reports on how the plot will be hatched. Olaniyan’s strategists were enjoying the game. 
It is clear that any impeachment plot against Engr. Olaniyan would be truncated for now.
