Nigerian troops eliminates ISWAP commander
It’s all over for Mohammed Yusuf, the son or Goni Maina who was named after the founder of Boko Haram, Mohammed Yusuf as the Nigeria troops have killed him after a major onslaught.
The report was confirmed by the military authority, saying that air strikes at Bukar Mairam, in the Marte Local Government Area (LGA) of Borno State, on the western coast of Lake Chad took him out.
The late Yusuf was holding the position of Commander “Rijal Amne” in Marte and has been brutal in attacking vulnerable communities in Borno State.
His father was formerly the Islamic State of West African Province Commander in charge of Lake Chad, but was killed on 1at December, 2020 in a raid jointly carried out by the Nigerian Army and the Air Force.
About 100 ISWAP terrorists were killed in the raid that eliminated the notorious Goni Maina, “including several high-ranking insurgents’ commanders, foot soldiers and Hisbah police from the ISWAP faction.
The military in conjunction with the Airforce has been intensifying airstrikes since January thereby leading to the killing of many terrorists.
CAPITAL POST gathered that the confirmation of the killing of Mohammed Yusuf on Friday excited the residents, some of who have prayed for Allah’s further intervention.
