Zulum disburses N68,750,000 to 1,250 to NATA members in Borno
The Chairman, National Automobile and Technical Association (NATA), Borno State Chapter, Engineer Hussain Musa has said that all the monies Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has promised to give all registered members of the association in the state totalling about 1,218 members have been fulfilled and paid accordingly into all the beneficiaries individual bank account with their respective banker.
He added that even the money the governor pledged to give each executive member of the State Executive Council (SEC) of the NATA in the state have been paid into their individual bank accounts since, particularly, all NATA members within Maiduguri Metropolitan Council (MMC), Konduga and Jere LGCs as well as SEC members of the association.
Engr. Hussain who disclosed this today Thursday in an interactive session with journalists in his office also said that, the association have seventeen (17 ) units within the state capital, Maiduguri city and 24 units outside Maiduguri metropolis totalling 41 units across the state.
According to him, the total membership within the state capital which comprises of three LGAs of MMC, Konduga and Jere LGCs is about 600 members while across the state is 1,218 out of about 60,000 registered and unregistered members.
He further explained that Governor Zulum has earlier pledged to give each member of the association N50,000 as cash support while he promised to give the State Chairman N1 million, Vice Chairman N750,000, State Secretary N500,000, Financial Secretary N300,000 and all the remaining 15 exco members N250,000 each, noting that, the association has a total number of 19 SEC members.
Engr. Musa revealed also that the 17 units within the state capital which comprises of MMC, Jere and Konduga LGCs have 24 or 28 and 31 memberships per every unit or beneficiaries totalling about 600 members that benefitted the N50,000 while the other 24 units of the 24 LGAs also consist of 20 or 30 members per unit each whose payments are being processed and in progress for disbursement through their personal bank accounts
The Chairman said, “it is only the NATA members outside the state capital, Maiduguri city that are yet to get their payments delayed by the issue of bank procedures and new bank accounts opening or registration by those members outside the metropolis”.
“But in two weeks time, their payments will be completed soon hence payments individually into their personal bank accounts will commence next week Insha Allah.
“All payments to the SEC members of 18 members have been paid already into their respective bank account. 250,000 other exco members, 300,00 Financial Secretary, 500,000 state Secretary , 750,000 Vice Chairman and Chairmam N 1 million . All have been processed and paid completely as beneficiaries”, Musa said
The Chairman further revealed that the state governor has directed the ministry in charge of the project to allocated more plots to the NATA members at the newly constructed multi million naira automobile mechanical workshops site , popularly ,known as Mechanics Village located at Molai along Damboa-Biu road
He maintained that additional facilities like inconveniences , canteens and shoos among others are being provided at the village while expressing appreciation and gratitude to the governor and BORMA, the ministry, microfinance, as well as all those involved in the construction of the village and provision of facilities at the site among others.
The chairman assured the state governor continuous support, cooperation and loyalty of the members to his administration while declaring support to governor Zulum’s government and his four plus four continuity project for the purpose of delivery of more dividends of democracy to the people at all the nooks and crannies of the state that have direct bearing on the living condition of the people immensely.
Engr. Musa added that”, without any iota of doubt, Borno state has never had a suitable and hardworking governor like Governor Zulum. Since his assumption of office, Zulum has tremendously delivered and people wish he should continue to deliver more dividends of democracy.”
