FCT Poll: Igbos urged to come out enmasse to cast votes
Igbo residents in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have been encouraged to come out enmasse and vote the candidate of their choice in the Saturday’s area council elections.
A member of the National Council of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Area Council election, Dr Lilian Chinasa Obenwa made the call in a meeting to sensitize Igbos residing in Abuja yesterday.
She emphasised the need for Igbos to vote and urged them to identify with the party at the centre which is the ruling All Progressives Congress.
According to her, “When you identify with the power in the center, you have a say and automatically you are part of the government”.
Speaking on inclusion of women in politics, the Women Leader said, President Buhari’s administration is doing excellently well.
She urged voters to come out on Saturday to vote, monitor and ensure that their vote count.
Senior Special Assistant to the Minister of FCT on Health and Hospital Management, Dr Ejike Orji on his part, said the APC has created an enabling environment for the Igbos to aspire for even the highest office in the land.
He said “Igbos are looking for the president of Nigeria and by God’s grace we will get it.
“The most important thing is the fact that Nigeria should move forward but anything that God gives us, we will take it but we will prefer to be the president of this country,” Dr Orji added.
He urge voters to conduct themselves in an orderly manner and vote peacefully in their various polling unit.
