ISWAP fighters, family members surrender to troops in Borno [Photos]
Following a deadly onslaught by the Nigerian troops that saw fighters of the Islamic State of West African Province, ISWAP perished massively in Marte area of Lake Chad last week, no fewer than 104 fighters have surrendered
Army authority on Monday disclosed with pictorial evidence on a facebook page of the terrorists’ surrender.
It was explain on Facebook that those who surrendered to the 25 Task Force Brigade Damboa include 22 males, 27 females and 55 children.
The post reads, “ISWAP and their families numbering 104 comprising 22 males, 27 females and 55 children surrendered to troops of 25 Task Force Brigade Damboa, Borno State on Saturday 5 February 2022.”
The ISWAP fighters have gained ground above the Boko Haram insurgents in recent times and they have escalated attacks in Borno, Adamawa and other north east States.
Their operations have been massive in Niger, and other northwest States like Sokoto, and Kebbi.
