Factional Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Kano State, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas has said governor Umar Abdullahi Ganduje was absent at Tuesday’s peace meeting of APC due to his official engagements.

He said the governor has been preoccupied with engagements, hence, he couldn’t be present at the peace and reconciliatory meeting.

He spoke with journalists on Tuesday in Kano amid concerns that crisis in Kano will continue, as the governor has made himself unavailable for reconciliation for the second time now.

According to him, the governor was unavailable on Tuesday as a result of top government functionaries who are in Kano for the official inauguration of Gerawa Rice Mill.

He said: “Everybody is aware that the governor has today, Tuesday, hosted some important personalities in the state for the official inauguration of Gerawa Rice Mill.

“The Governor of the Central Bank, Mr Godwin Emefele, Governor of Kebbi state his Jigawa counterpart, Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar were all in Kano today for the inauguration of Gerawa Rice Mill.

The reconciliatory meeting was initiated to settle rift between the governor and Senator Shekarau-led party executives in Kano State.

Abbas however, maintained that their faction are ready for genuine reconciliation.
